From Our Chairman

I’m very grateful for the opportunity I’ve had these last two years to function as the Chairman of the SGBF. At our recent annual meeting, the attending church messengers voted to retain the current leadership. I’m honored by their decision and committed to serving our SGBF for another two-year term.

I’ve tried to advance our Fellowship through encouraging other pastors who share our doctrine but haven’t aligned with a group of churches. This effort has been rewarded with at least two new churches joining our Fellowship. I’m convinced, more than ever before, of the value of churches joining together to advance a shared vision for the local church and the world.

It’s a great encouragement to be a part of a group of churches who are resolved to stand together in Truth, when so many have chosen an easier path. I appreciate the council, accountability and prayers that our churches offer to one another. We all agree that these are strange and challenging times for the church.

But we are also excited about God’s work in these times. We have felt the loss of brother Gary Long but we’re also encouraged by the members to rise up and be strong for the sake of their Lord.

During our meeting on Tuesday the attending pastors voted to retain the leaders that have served the last two years. I’m honored by their decision and committed to serving our SGBF for another two year term.

Thank you,
Al Garard
